Well, after much forth and back I still haven't got mod_perl to work.
Today I will go the CGI way, and as the infrastructure is "back in place",
I guess I will look more into that area and eventually get everything
working today.  And I will also look at the web interface and eventually
demonstrate it.

Oh, an ambitious plan for one day.  And I only want to sleep.  Doesn't
seem to promising... :/
