[rt-users] More MySql troubles

I have done some more work on my connection issues and found that I cannot
connect to the database (any of them) when logged in to the system as anyone
other than root.  Below is an example of the error I get when logging in as
'bob'.

[bob at support1 bob]$ mysqladmin -u root status
mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/lib/mysql/mysql
.sock' (111)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket:
'/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' ex
ists!
[bob at support1 bob]$


Any ideas?
