Hi

I'd like to be able to report on external ids, such as those generated by a
separate tracking system, then sort/report on them. The only way I can
think of doing this is to put the id in some standard format in the subject
line.

e.g. for a new request make Subj: CUSTOMER_TRACKING_NUMBER=2387 {problem
issue}

Then the new RT ticket number will be generated and I can sort on subject
to get a list by the customer tracking number.

In general I can't see any extra data entry/sort fields for stuff like
this, which could include Oracle TARs or other tracking numbers.

Any suggestions as to the best way to implement this, short of a
development project?
