Hi, to anyone who can point me in the right direction, I would be very
appreciative.

This is our first attempt to install RT (it appears to be brilliant - have
seen a demonstration - must have it!)

FreeBSD ver 4.6.2
RT Ver 2-0-15

*** We DID install MANUALLY the above 3 that CPAN did not want to install,
however it still does not recognise them ***

If we skip to the MAKE INSTALL step, as I read some people have done, we get
the following result;
# make install
mkdir -p //usr/local/rt2/bin
mkdir -p //usr/local/rt2/WebRT/data
mkdir -p //usr/local/rt2/WebRT/sessiondata
mkdir -p //usr/local/rt2/etc
mkdir -p //usr/local/rt2/lib
mkdir -p //usr/local/rt2/WebRT/html
mkdir -p //usr/local/rt2/local/WebRT/html
/usr/bin/perl tools/initdb 'mysql' '/usr/local/var' 'localhost' '' 'rt'
'rt2' create
Now creating a database for RT.
Enter the mysql password for rt:
Creating mysql database rt2.
cp etc/acl.mysql '//usr/local/rt2/etc/acl.mysql'
/usr/bin/perl -p -i -e " s'!!DB_TYPE!!'"mysql"'g;\
                        s'!!DB_HOST!!'"localhost"'g;\
                        s'!!DB_RT_PASS!!'"supp0rt"'g;\
                        s'!!DB_RT_HOST!!'"localhost"'g;\
                        s'!!DB_RT_USER!!'"rt_innes"'g;\
                        s'!!DB_DATABASE!!'"rt2"'g;"
//usr/local/rt2/etc/acl.mysql
bin/initacls.mysql '/usr/local/var' 'localhost' '' 'rt' 'XXXXXXXXXX'
'rt2XXX' '//usr/local/rt2/etc/acl.mysql'
Enter the mysql administrator's database password to create a new user for
RT
bin/initacls.mysql: /usr/local/var/bin/mysql: permission denied
Enter the mysql administrator's database password to nondestructively reload
the database
bin/initacls.mysql: /usr/local/var/bin/mysqladmin: not found
make: *** [acls] Error 127

*** I expect it is something very very simple...and I hate to bother you all
on this but I have spent better half of today and last night reading and
trying different things including putting user rt (group rt also exists)
into wheel etc but to no avail. ***

Thank you to all who stop and ponder my quandry. I do appreciate it.

John
