[rt-users] Permissions/user help

Initially rt-mailgate was unable to find config.pm. I had tried giving rx to
rt, root and even nobody(apache) and none worked. I set it to 555 and it got
a bit further along (I don't plan on keeping this as is). Then, rt-mailgate
complained that it was unable to write to /var/log/rt2/rt.log8. All that
existed in /var/log/rt was rt.log0 with permissions to nobody and it is a 0
byte file. I changed permissions on /var/log/rt2 to rt:rt thinking that
might help, but then apache blew up because it was unable to open rt.log0
even though it's not writing anything to it. So I did a touch rt.log8, chown
rt:rt rt.log, chown nobody:nobody rt.log0 and they are both now working
(apache and rt-mailgate are working fine) but nothing is getting written to
either of these files.

In any case, now that I've probably either irritated or confused you all,
can anyone provide me some direction how this is all supposed to be laid out
before I do something even dumber than I have?

This is a rather generic RH7.2 system running rt-2.0.15

Thanks in advance for you help (read:patience),

Jonathan
