[rt-users] rt2 -> rt3 error (Wide character in subroutine entry)

I'm seeing something similar here, but only when it attempts to import tickets:

-snip-
.t-146
[Fri Jul 11 06:18:07 2003] [crit]: Wide character in subroutine entry at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/Encode.pm line 154.
 (/opt/rt3/lib/RT.pm:242)
-snip-

Same situation as below, rh9/apache2/modperl2.

Any ideas?

Daniel

Subject: [rt-users] rt2 -> rt3 error (Wide character in subroutine
entry)

I'm trying to do an rt2 to rt3 conversion with a completely new system.
The old system is redhat 7.2/apache1/modperl1, the new one is redhat
9/apache2/modperl2. I'm assuming the error I'm getting is because of a
perl 5.8 unicode thing:

---(snip!)---
Importing users
u.u.u.u.u.u.u.u.u[Tue Jul 8 14:29:55 2003] [crit]: Wide character in
subroutine entry at
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/Encode.pm line 154.
  (/opt/rt3/lib/RT.pm:242)
---(snip!)---

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

We put a lot of thought into our defaults. We like them. If we
didn't, we would have made something else be the default. So keep
your cotton-pickin' hands off our defaults. Don't touch. Consider
them mandatory. "Mandatory defaults" has a nice ring to it.
