[rt-users] Detecting how a ticket was created?

We have a custom field that is 
"Source: Phone/Email"

Is there a way to detect if a ticket was created via mail gate (i.e. Email)
or from the "Create Ticket" button (i.e. Phone) that could then be used to
populate the custom field?
