[rt-users] MySQL server has gone away

I installed RT 3.4.4 and happily imported an RT 3.0.something database.

Creating a new ticket produces the following error - re-submitting the
page immediately does create the ticket and send the e-mail.
Re-submitting the page after a delay causes the same error to be output.


When the error message appears, the ticket UIDs increase, but no ticket
can be found.
