Thanks!  As it happens, I did notice those files.  I went looking for
"readmes" before bothering the list.  :)  Reading the files made me
wonder if I should do this incrementally, though.

Thanks, Thomas, for the quick and thorough answer.  This is going to
save me a lot of time.
