[rt-devel] RT Interface Mod

Actually, I did look in to using Keywords. But, if I'm not mistaken,
that adds the ability to search by keyword in a ticket. Which means the
support staff would still have to input the client names (and spell them
correctly). I wasn't really able to make good use of it... At least the
with what information I have about it. How difficult was it to add the
client field? Did you have to create another table for that data?
Thanks for you assistance,

I added a client_id to the Ticket table. You can do that as well and
then hack the corresponding Elements in RT for where you want to place
this information in a dropdown list. I put it in ShowPeople for
example.
The tricky thing is, which I'll be working on next week, is to do the
search by client id on the SEARCH page.
Also, look into Keywords, that might also be helpful.
Good luck.

Hi All,
I'm interested in modifying RT to track particular clients. IE, adding
the ability to assign a client to each ticket. Particularly, I would
like to be able to have a list of clients in a drop down menu when
creating a new ticket. Then, be able to search that value to display
all tickets. I'm sure I'm not the first one to desire this... Being new
to RT, I'm a little overwhelmed on where to start. Has anyone hacked
this out already? Or perhaps I could get a shove in the right
direction. Many thanks,
