I am new to RT and I have successfully set up the RT application, however, I am in the dark about the rt-mailgate and sendmail. I am trying to set up the RT software on a Linux box that is connected to a network that has dedicated mail servers. One is Solaris Unix and the other is an NT Exchange server.

I am confused about the aliases and where they actually have to reside. Also does an alias for each user have to reside on the RT Linux box or does that have to reside on the mail server???

I am also confused about how to configure both RT and Sendmail to actually send the mail to the mail server to forward it on to the proper persons mailbox

I seem to have another problem and this may be connected to the mail situation. If I have any of the response options turned on for the queue that I have created and I try to create a new request in the queue I get an internal server error. This also happens when I try to reply or send comments out to a user.

Any help on how to set this up and make it all work together would really be appreciated. I think the program is great and if I could get the mail portion of it working would be a great solution to keeping track of helpdesk requests.

Thanks
