We're running 3.2.2 under Apache 2 and mod_perl2 here on a Dell dual 
p3/500 xeon box under FreeBSD 4 and it's working very well.  I've seen 
no problems that I could attribute back to mod_perl or apache2. 
Performance is quite good.
