[rt-users] Problem with international characters (german umlauts) RT 3.0.9

Hello,

i have problems with german umlauts in messages which come in via
rt-mailgate.

It looks like the characters get converted twice to utf-8, and so become
4 bytes instead of 2 in the database.

Example: 

In the web-interface i see the word "Ã¼berprÃ¼fen", but it should be
"überprüfen".

Upgrade to perl 5.8.3 from 5.8.0 did not help.

Has anybody had this problem and has solved it?
