[rt-users] Installation Issue

(My apologies if this was sent twice)

I am installing RT 3.4.2 on a RHEL4 ES server. Followed the instructions on the best practical wiki and am having problems with 
make initialize-database. 

When prompted for user's database password am using root's password for mysql. Here is what I get:

Now creating a database for RT.
Creating mysql database rt3.
Now populating database schema.
Creating database schema.
Done setting up database schema.
Now inserting database ACLs
Done setting up database ACLs.
Now inserting RT core system objects

make: *** [initialize-database] Error 255

I have modified the following entries in RT_SiteConfig.pm:
$rtname <server fqdn>
$DataBaseHost <''>
$DataBaseRTHost <''>
$DatabaseUser <root>
$DatabasePassword <my password>

Permissions on RT_SiteCongig.pm are 550 root.rt

Any assistance would be appreciated
