Sorry for taking so long to reply to this, especially if someone else
has already answered your question.

I haven't tried 3.6.3 yet, but I know that 3.6.1 did not have such a
feature.  If you're still looking for the ability to soft close tickets,
let me know, and I'll work on packaging up the solution we came up with
here.
