Sorry, I missed that you must also escape the braces, see https://metacpan.org/pod/Text::Template#Template-Parsing.

You have to change

body, table, td {font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif !important;}

to

body, table, td \{font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif !important;\}
