[Rtir] RTIR over https

I've set up RTIR 2.3.17 with RT 3.7.26 on a Debian 4.0 system. I've
configured Apache to use an ssl certificate and modified the site URL in
RT_SiteConfig to be https://... and change the mail alias to have --url
https:// etc.

However, mail gets rejected and the log says rt-mailgate returned an
error of -75.

It's clearly something to do with the SSL stuff. Any ideas? Or can
someone point to some documentation showing how to configure RT and RTIR
with SSL?
