Hi Stig,

Disk space is not an issue, plenty of it.

The following is part of a log file that I capture that is the output of an automated script that does the syncing and merging between the main repository and the remote.

Pure speculation: running out of diskspace while trying to write the  
config file back to disk?

Did you get an error message at all with the last command you executed?
